Welcome to the Motel California!

This year's puzzle challenge is interactive fiction (IF; also known as a text adventure). This is the first IF I ever wrote. I hope you find it entertaining.

To solve this puzzle, it will require more than finding items and figuring out where to place them or who to give them to. Embedded in this IF are puzzles that may require you to work stuff out on paper.

Also, I would like to thank the very creative and talented people at Inform who created this amazingly easy to use tool for generating text adventures. I look forward to writing more interactive fiction in the future. If you have a creative side to you, you should download Inform7 and give it a whirl.

If you are lost in the Motel California and you don't know what to do, try looking around at everything. Ask the people you encounter about things, including the other motel guests. Try giving things to different people. Try using things in certain areas. This is a puzzle challenge. It is meant to be challening. Yes, it may be frustrating at times. The important thing is to have fun, and don't give up!
