The Hunt for James "Pigleg" Porter's Treasure

Welcome to Pegamoose Games' 2007 Puzzle Challenge — The hunt for Captain James 'Pigleg' Porter's treasure. There is a small fee to play this year's puzzle challenge. We are charging $10 for the puzzle pack so that we can offer various prizes this year. Included in this puzzle hunt are over a dozen puzzles, a short story, two games, and more. Plus, when you purchase the puzzle pack, you can throw your name into the hat for one of the monthly prize drawings. When you solve the puzzle, you can throw your name into a different hat for the grand prize giveaway.

This is how it works:
First, purchase the puzzle pack by clicking on the "Buy Now" button. Be sure to submit your information to be entered in the monthly prize drawings.
Next, start solving puzzles and searching for passwords. As you solve puzzles, you will reveal more pieces of the map or directions for following the map. If you are confused by something, set it aside and look for items elsewhere. Some puzzles discovered early in the challenge may only be solved with information gained later in the hunt. And, remember the most important thing, have fun!
Finally, when you reveal the location of Pigleg's treasure, enter the location in the password field of the main puzzle page. You will know when you find the treasure. Submit your contact information to be entered in the grand prize drawing.

The puzzle pack includes:
- The short story The Revenge of Captain James 'Pigleg' Porter — Read the story from beginning to end. It may contain relevant information.
- The treasure map — It may not look like much to start with. You will need to find the missing pieces to fill in the map and steps to following it.
- Puzzles — The puzzle pack comes with a few puzzles. Solve the puzzles to reveal more passwords or more puzzles that will lead you to the treasure.
- Appendix A — This is a quick reference to help you translate numbers and letters into other encryptions. It may or may not contain information to help you.

The treasure awaits!
There are two types of prize giveaways in the 2007 puzzle challenge: monthly drawings and the grand prize giveaways.
Monthly Drawings — By purchasing the puzzle pack, you can enter to participate in the monthly drawings. Drawings start in July 2007 and end in November 2007. On the 20th of each month, we will randomly select someone to win an official Pigleg T-shirt. Your name will be entered into the drawing for each purchase of the puzzle pack. If you purchase multiple puzzle packs, your chances increase of winning one of the monthly prizes.
Grand Prize Drawing(s) — You must first complete the puzzle challenge and submit your correct answer to Pegamoose Games by December 19, 2007 to be entered into the Grand Prize drawing (on December 20, 2007). As the number of participants in the puzzle challenge increases, so do the prize levels for the challenge. Participation is calculated by the number of puzzle packs sold, and will be updated periodically on the puzzle challenge main page. Ask your friends and family to compete in the puzzle challenge and improve the prizes and the odds of winning a prize.
Prizes include:
- One year subscription to Knucklebone Magazine ($25 value)
- Five month subscription to Game Table Online ($25 value)
- $25 gift certificate to Funagain Games online store ($25 value)
- Three-month subscription to Puzzle Pirates ($20-25 value, depending if you're already a member)
- $25 gift certificate to Amazon ($25 value)
- $25 iTunes gift card ($25 value)
Prizes are subject to availability. If one or more prizes are no longer available, it will be replaced by something of equal or greater value. For prize levels involving multiple selections, you may choose more than one of any prize. In the event the number of people entering the grand prize drawings are less than or equal to the number of drawings, all prizes will be divided equally among the winners.
