Game design tip: when the player is given a list he should be able to read it.
Thank you for the tip, but for discussion's sake, that depends... For our game it is good news for you to say something like that because it means the game is detailed enough so that when you can't read something, it stands out. However, I don't think it is always necessary, nor a norm in games, to be able to read everything you are given, especially when the purpose of them is for something else. Even in the newly released highly acclaimed 'Dragon Age' which I am also playing, I have been given tons of papers, lists and documents which you can't do anything with except sell. Again, we do thank you, and everyone else, for asking questions and giving comments because it helps us make the game better.
